Today, I woke up and did my taxes. I am not too fond of dealing with money. All of my stock accounts are managed by my dad because I do not have the time or the patience to figure it all out.
I started on on the Turbo Tax site and filled in all my information. Somewhere along the line it got messed up and I had to start all over again. I tried using a different site and started out fine until it would not let me log into the account that I had just made. Then I get a warning that my battery on my laptop is about to dye. I plug it in, and it doesn't charge... At this point I had had enough and just wanted to quit. I switch to my dads MacBook and I get back on track; this time going back to Turbo Tax.
I get through all the information that I needed to put in when my dad tells me that he sold some stocks and I needed to account for it in my taxes. The only problem was that he didn't know the account information to log in and check the amounts. I grab my coat and head over to Scottrade to get my account information.
Once I had all of the information I needed I left and remembered that next door is a Dunken Doughnuts. I get a dozen to go and head back to finish my taxes.
After four hours, two computers, two tax websites, and twelve doughnuts my taxes were finished.
I should be getting a check in the mail from our wonderful government for $413. All that time to get back the money that was taken out of my weekly paychecks.
Thank you government for making my life so easy.
